“The itinerary was set to maximize our time in the central Andes region and target as many species as possible, but this was also a trip to enjoy the birds, nature, our surroundings and the amazing Colombian culture. Additionally, the attention to detail and lengths taken to go out of their way to make each guest comfortable was extraordinary. On our arrival day we were all greeted with a reusable bag filled with small gifts, snacks and reusable utensils/water bottle to use on our trip. All items were handmade in Colombia and all supported local businesses. Many of us had dietary restrictions such as vegetarian, gluten free and vegan. All restrictions were met at every meal and it was still delicious.”

“I participated in the December 2020 Birding By Bus Women’s Birding Trip to the northern part of Colombia, which was a Christmas present from my husband. It was the BEST gift I’ve ever received! I am in my 60’s and the pace was never more than I could handle, no matter where we went. We were shown birds in every type of habitat imaginable, from desert to mountaintop. Our guides were knowledgeable not only about the huge number of bird species we saw, but also about the cultural richness of our host country, Colombia. We got impromptu presentations on topics to include local fruits and Colombian money. The food was fantastic, and dietary concerns of all participants were always seen to. In fact, the tour company saw to every travel detail, leaving us to worry about nothing. I cannot recommend the Birding By Bus tours any more highly.
